A charming journey through time and eternity, connecting the aesthetics and the architecture of Cycladic Islands across centuries and cultural progression.
I chose to name my new collection Aion, inspired by the Hellenistic deity of perceptual and cyclic time as well as the universe. My aim was to link the past and the present of Cycladic folk architecture; this unique architecture of smooth - edged corners which offers a sense of freedom under the sun and breeze, serving primarily human needs amidst the rocky and windy cliff sides, says Constantinos Papadoukas, the creator of AION Collection, which was launched in February 2022.
AION Home is a collection inspired from these very shapes and forms. Arches, steps, and hollow spaces have been chosen, united and transformed into artifacts that work alone or combined with their siblings. Meanwhile, the distinctive aesthetics, the plasticity and simplicity of the forms and colors, create a sense of an amaranthine voyage through Cycladic civilization and culture.
